A temporary shelter will be created in the gallery with materials taken from the LA landscape.
The installation of the the shelter and the surrounding environment will establish the context of our story and we are asking that artists consider this when making their work.
Individual pieces will both stand alone and flesh out and support the narrative of transience, impermanence as well as the feelings of isolation and alienation urban environments can create.
We invite artists from across the country to submit proposals! This should
include a short synopsis of what you would like to create (a paragraph or more),
along with a CV and 5 images of previous work. We accept all forms of media.
Deadline for submissions is May 1st!
We would also like to ask that artists in the LA area at the time of the
installation come and collaborate on the construction of the Corn Team’s
shelter. This could be building walls and furniture to tagging and decorating the
space with artifacts and mementos. There will be performances at the opening
and we’d like artists considering this option to include a complete list of props
(costumes, sets, etc..) with their proposal. We, in turn, will do our best to
acquire/create these elements for you.
Please email any questions, comments, ideas to ohnancy(at)ohnancy.com
where Arthur, Nate or Fionn will get back to you ASAP.
